The 2026 China Environmental Mass Spectrometry Conference and Symposium on Inorganic and Isotope Mass Spectrometry was held in Chengdu from October 23 to 26. EXPEC Technology attended with its China-developed inorganic mass spectrometry solutions. The conference was hosted by the Mass Spectrometry Branch of the Chinese Physical Society and the Mass Spectrometry Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society, and organized by Southwest Jiaotong University. It brought together academicians and experts in mass spectrometry, university research teams, environmental monitoring institutions, and industry peers. Discussions focused on emerging environmental contaminants, inorganic and isotope mass spectrometry, instrument development, and sample preparation, creating a professional platform for in-depth exchange among industry, academia, and research institutions.

In-Depth Academic Exchange: Listening to Frontline Research Needs

During the conference, EXPEC Technology’s technical team took part in parallel sessions, poster presentations, and the Young Scholars Forum, keeping up with the latest research in the field. The team spoke face to face with university researchers and monitoring technicians about common challenges in the industry, including analysis in complex environmental matrices, trace-level contaminant analysis, and isotope measurement.

At the conference, EXPEC Technology engineer Xi Jiachen delivered a presentation titled “Introduction to EXPEC Technology’s Inorganic Mass Spectrometry Analysis.” He gave a systematic overview of the company’s technology roadmap, analytical capabilities, and application areas in inorganic mass spectrometry, and shared the company’s R&D approach and practical progress in China-developed inorganic mass spectrometry with fellow attendees.

On-Site Technical Dialogue: Exploring Application Paths for China-Developed Mass Spectrometry

EXPEC Technology is committed to independent innovation in high-end analytical instruments. The company works in environmental and inorganic mass spectrometry and offers integrated solutions that combine instruments, sample preparation equipment, and application methods, which aligns with the themes of this conference. Many experts and researchers visited the EXPEC Technology booth to ask about applying mass spectrometry instruments and sample preparation equipment in environmental and inorganic analysis. Our technical staff answered each question, exchanged ideas on difficulties in real-world testing scenarios, and discussed how China-developed mass spectrometry can be put into practice in research and monitoring.

The growth of China-developed high-end scientific instruments depends on continuous testing and feedback from the academic community. EXPEC Technology has pursued an independent R&D path, continuing to improve its mass spectrometry product portfolio and build up matching application methods. Its users include environmental monitoring agencies, university researchers, and third-party testing laboratories.

EXPEC Technology plans to apply the needs and suggestions gathered at this conference to instrument optimization, new method development, and refinement of application solutions. It will also deepen its collaboration with research institutes and environmental monitoring organizations, continue to strengthen the practical capability of China-developed mass spectrometry in emerging environmental contaminant analysis and inorganic and isotope analysis, support the development of environmental mass spectrometry in China, and keep working toward self-reliance in high-end analytical instruments.
